Strong Growth in China's New Energy Vehicle Market in April, NIO's Deliveries Surge by 134.6%
The electric vehicle market in China witnessed significant growth in April 2024, with major players like NIO, HIMA, and XPeng Motors delivering impressive numbers of new vehicles. NIO's deliveries surged by 134.6% year-on-year, showcasing the increasing demand for electric vehicles in the country. This surge in deliveries is indicative of the market's shift towards sustainable mobility solutions and the continued innovation and competitiveness among leading brands in the industry.
In April 2024, China's new energy vehicle market continued to demonstrate robust growth, with major brands achieving record delivery numbers. NIO delivered 15,620 new vehicles during the month, marking a remarkable 134.6% year-on-year increase and a 31.6% increase compared to the previous month. Additionally, NIO introduced "0 Down Payment" car purchases and "Trade-In Subsidies," attracting more attention and purchases from consumers.
During the same period, Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) delivered 29,632 new vehicles, once again securing the top spot in monthly sales among new energy vehicle brands. Ideal Automobile delivered 25,787 new vehicles, with a modest 0.4% year-on-year growth and a cumulative delivery count of 106,187 vehicles, steadily expanding its market share.
Other brands also experienced significant growth. ZEEKR delivered 16,089 new vehicles, marking a 99% year-on-year increase and a 24% increase compared to the previous month. XPeng Motors delivered 9,393 new vehicles, showing a 33% year-on-year increase, maintaining its rapid growth momentum.
In the traditional automotive sector, SAIC-GM delivered 8,762 new energy vehicles, with a strong year-on-year growth of 93.1%, indicating the accelerating trend of traditional automakers transitioning to the new energy field. Xiaomi's SU7 model delivered 7,058 units, accumulating an impressive order backlog of 88,063 units, demonstrating its competitiveness in the electric vehicle market.
VOYAH delivered 4,003 vehicles in April, marking a 20% year-on-year increase, with a total delivery count of 20,348 vehicles from January to April, showing a consistent and robust growth trend for the brand in the market.
Overall, China's new energy vehicle market showed strong performance in April 2024, with major brands maintaining high-speed growth momentum, injecting powerful drive into the development of sustainable mobility and the new energy vehicle industry.
